WOOOHOOO I WON!!!!!!

Over at Hallmarkscrapbook.com they were running a contest to win an Cricut Expression or a $300 gift voucher to spend in their store. I entered my 12 Days of Christmas exploding box (see previous post), and i'm delighted to say, i just had an email to tell me i won! I'm so over the moon, there were loads of awesome entries, and they chose me. Thank you Jody and Brad, i'm so looking forward to spending my voucher. I am a very happy bunny, this has really made my year. :)

12 Days of Christmas

I bet i'm not the only one who forgets how many Lords are leaping or swans are swimming, so to help me remember i've made this exploding box. I've used BG Figgy Pudding pp's and 38 different cuts from JOS Cricut cart. I sure remember it now, as i was singing away to myself whilst i was making it.

More Christmas cards...

Here's two more Christmas cards i've made this week.

The first is another one for the 'bling' card challenge, and the other is an acetate embossed card, (which are the hardest cards ever to photograph).

Can't beat a bit of bling......

especially when it's on a Christmas card. On UKS there is a monthly card making challenge, this month was to create a card with a bit of bling , so here's my effort. I used my beloved Cricut Expression and the fab Joys of the Season cart, and of course lots of bling (Stickles and gems).

My Son was so made up with the comments he got about his card, so thanks to all that commented. I now need to keep my bestest stash under lock and key, as he's itching to make more cards.

Isn't he a clever boy!

It Hubby's BDay today, and as i shared the card i made for him in an earlier post i thought i'd share the card our 11 year old Son made him too. I let him loose in my craft room, (i only gave him my scraps box though, i'm not that daft!) and away he went, he even dug out a greeting stamp and die cut himself a tag. I think he's gifted in the art of card making. He just loves it, and has had some cards published in the past, but he never got them returned, so that's put him off submitting again.

woohoo!

Look what i got! thanks Anna. xxx

Tagged!

I've been tagged for the first time by Patsy, (thanks for that), but i'm afraid my 7 facts won't be very interesting, as i'm quite boring.

Here we go then,

-My DH and i where together for 11 years before we finally got married in Cyprus 2005, our son who was 9 at the time was our best man.

-I had gestational diabetes when i was expecting our son, so he was a large baby weighing 9lb 1oz, and was born via C-section.

-We have been foster carers for 4 1/2 years, and have had 7 children stay with us in that time.

-I will be 40 next April., but inside i'm still in my twenties.

-I own a 7 year old Labradoodle, (Labrador/Poodle cross) named Murphy. He's a big lump and acts like a puppy.

-I have known my best friend for 35 years, we don't see each other as much as we'd like to, as she works full time, but we both know we are always there for each other.

-I once bounced down some metal steps on my bottom at a theme park and broke my coccyx, OUCH!

Told you i'm boring.

I can't think of seven people to tag, as most of the blogs i visit have already done this one, so if you read this and haven't been tagged, your it!

Some old Ribbonoasis DT projects

Just thought i'd share some of the stuff i've done for Ribbonoasis, using some gorgeous ribbons from the Summer Fun and Sunny Daze mini mixes Bea sent me.

Final challenge, Hubby's B'Day card.

The final challenge on UKS CC was to create cards using sketches along with recipes. I turned one of the sketches around and used the Knickerbocker glory recipe, (which was a bit of every thing) and made this card for DH who's B'Day is this coming Saturday, he doesn't read my blog so here it is. I will warn him about the pin, as he wouldn't want to get a little prick :).

OMG, I won!!!

I had some brilliant news on Monday from Patsy , i had won her blog challenge for my blue and brown get well soon card. I was thrilled that out of all the amazing entries she had, she picked mine as the winning card. My prize came yesterday, and it's even better IRL, check here to see the full list and piccies of what i got, aren't those stamps just lush?

Where does the time go?

I really can't believe how long it's been since my last post. I done a few LO's for the on-going cyber crop on UKS, this time they are spreading the classes and challenges over three weekends, so it's much more relaxed. I've only managed to do one LO this weekend, as we we're out last night at a 30th birthday party.

Here's a couple of class LO's i did last weekend,
Yesterday was crop day, i run a small crop in the local village hut, we have such a laugh, and some of the ladies even scrap, but not me, i'm there to lend a helping hand for those that need it, make the coffee and prepare and serve lunch.

Today i've been getting the last bits and pieces for our foster child's 3rd birthday tomorrow, she's so excited, and i can't wait to see her little face when she comes down for breakfast to loads of pink balloons we've put up everywhere and a couple of rather large pressies. This is the best bit of fostering, making their special day 'special' and giving them the birthday they may not ever had before.

Say it with flowers

I don't know about you, but i love to receive flowers and also love to give them, especially when someone is poorly or feeling down, they always seem to cheer me, and i hope they have the same effect on the people i send them to. So i've made another card for Patsy's challenge, and hope this bouquet makes her feel even better.

Get well soon Patsy

Patsy has not been well lately, so she's put a challenge on her blog to create a get well card for her. So here's my card for you Hun, made with love.

Monday, 1 October 2007

Hello

I've not really had much to say lately, hence the gap between now and my last post.

It's been a funny old week, i received my EBug last Tuesday, and i was so excited about getting it, then couldn't be bothered to play. I've had really bad PMT (sorry too much info) and could have easily committed murder last week, but i'm Ok again now, thank goodness. I really hate it when my hormones take over, and no matter how hard i try, i can't stop them. I really feel sorry to my loved ones, who have to take the brunt of my foul moods when that time comes.

Anyway today i've had a huge boost, i've won a prize for the card i made for the UKS Sept card challenge! I'm still shocked as there was loads of scrummy entries, far better than mine, but my card was chosen as the winner. Thank you Julie from Scrapbooking castle for picking my card. I'm over the moon!

I brought a little girls top from Next yesterday and fell in love with the little hedgehog on it, so i traced it and paper pieced it and put it on this card.

More sneaky peeks

Here's a few more sneaky peeks of the cards i made using the October kit from sarahscards. Don't forget if you sub to these kits you will also receive a stamp each month, all for just £11.50 a month.

Dublin's fair city.

DH and I had a wonderful few days away in the City of Dublin. We didn't manage to do everything, but sampled Guinness on the Guinness tour, and had a drop of Irish whiskey on the Jameson's tour, (at least we got our priorities right). We also visited Kilmainham Gaol, which was very interesting, and of course we had to go and see the most photographed statue in Dublin, that is of the famous Molly Malone.

Here's a few pics of our trip,

We're off...

yes tomorrow DH and i are off for a kiddie free mini break in Dublin. DS is eleven and this is the first time we've been away on our own! To say i'm excited is an understatement, but DS is gutted that he's missing this trip, but we've promised to take him one day. I still need to pack, colour my hair and paint my toes nails, then drop DS off at my Mum and Dads, and then have an early night ready for the off.
So by tomorrow lunch time we'll be having our first taste of the black stuff (Guinness) and seeing the sites of the City of Dublin.

Not just for Christmas

Last night Sarah advertised this kit on UKS, which will be on sale 25th October for the amazing bargain price of just £11.50! This kit was created with Christmas in mind, however to show just how versatile this kit is, i created four non-Christmas cards with it, as well as 6 Christmas ones. I can now reveal two of my cards in all their glory.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Yes i've been very busy creating cards for Sarah, i've had such a fun time with the kit she sent me, and made 10 cards, i just hope she likes what i've done. So here's a few sneak peeks of what i did with the kit that's coming soon.

It was murder.....

but so much fun. We had a total scream last night! I haven't laughed so hard for ages, today i hardly have a voice and my face and stomach aches though laughing so much. Everyone dressed up and looked fab. When we walked through the front door we were greeted by the victim laying in the hall with a stiletto through his skull, (just a dummy, made from pillows and cushions stuffed in a suit really, no-one had to play dead all night, lol). I won't say who the murderer was, in case any one reading wants to play this game, which i would highly recommend!

Here's Steve and i as Wilma and Marcus, doesn't he look a pretty boy! LOL.

Murder on the dance floor

Tonight there is going to be a murder! The weapon will be a stiletto heeled shoe.
Our friends are having a murder mystery party tonight, my character is Wilma Waltzwurk, and i'm gonna be wearing, a white ball gown, and a red feather boa. Steve is playing Marcus Hiley and he's gonna be wearing a bright pink, (we're talking BRIGHT!) and a touch of make-up. I'm really looking forward to it, and i'm sure the alcohol will be flowing freely, so i may be little delicate in the morning. Who knows i may even be the MURDERER.

Here's a card i made for my friends 40th next month, lucky girl is off to the Maldives for two weeks to celebrate! So i thought the tropical style flower was very fitting. Hope she likes it.

Postie brought me goodies!

I love my post lady, she brings me the most scrummy goodies, ( i just ignore the bills and forget that i've actually paid for most of it). Today she brought my prize from Leo, OMG, if this is a runners prize, the winner must have tought it was Christmas! Leo packed a jiffy bag with some really yummy treats. Thank you Hun.

Talking of yummy treats, postie also brought my card making kit from Sarahcards, it's absolutely packed with yumminess. I have ideas buzzing around my head already, so watch out for sneaky peeks of what i create with it here soon. Check out the current limited addition kits on Sarah's web site now, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Sarah for asking me to be the featured designer for this kit.

Runner up and peace at last!

I entered a comp on crafty templates ,(just for fun) it was to make a shaped card, i received an email Monday to say i had been selected as one of the runners up. Thank you Leo. You must check out her site as she produces the cutest templates, including some freebies.

Our foster child started pre-school yesterday afternoon, she was so excited, she goes again this arvo, so for two and a half hours twice a week i will get some ME time and hopefully get some crafting done.

Cameron went back to school today, he's just started year 7, so it's very quiet here today, or at least it would be if i didn't have L asking every five minutes if it was play group time yet. I'm looking forward to having my peace this afternoon.

Here's Cam looking smart in his new uniform.

I've been norty..

today i got carried away and ordered me a Cricut Expression from the US, well it just had to done, it was such a bargain. The machine was $275, minus 10% laborday discount the store was giving today and $50.70 shipping, so the total price in GBP was the amazing low sum of £151.61. I know i'll be stung by customs, ( i've been told around £40) but i paid almost twice that amount for my little Cricut this time last year. I was a little concerned what DH would say, but in the end i didn't have to tell him, as DS snitched on me the minute DH walked in the door from work, KIDS! He just laughed, phew. So now my Cricut is getting a big brother, he was rather lonely. :)

I LOVE MY DH SO MUCH!

I've been bullied....

into putting a link to my blog in my sig on UKS, by Monica, (who is the most talented crafter in the world) so if you're visiting from over there, give me a wave.
Yesterday i had my crop that i run once a month, we have a lovely bunch of scrappers come along and we also have such a laugh and some even scrap!, and today one of my scrapping buddies and i went to a scrapbooking extravaganza at Hintlesham Village Hall, i don't know how it happened but i left with quite a few new 12x12 papers under my arm, don't get my wrong i did pay for them :). I plan to stroke them for a while, but will one day get around to actually using them.

Some exciting news

well exciting for me anyway. I got the most lovely PM last night from a sponsor (Sarahscards) over on UKS, i was shaking with excitement when i read this...........

Hi Tracy
I absolutely love your greetings cards!I wondered if you'd be interested in doing some DT work for me? I'm launching a monthly card making kit. It's been in the pipeline since March but the birth of my twins in June has delayed it somewhat!! I am in the process of putting together some limited edition kits before going "live" with subscriptions for the October kit. Each kit will contain 6 different 6x12" patterned papers, 6 matching Bazzill in 6" x 12", bloomers, ribbons & 15 card blanks (square, DL or tall slim and A6) with matching envelopes as well as a bit extra- be it brads, foam pads, sticky dots etc.My intention is to have one designer per kit, who would produce a minimum of 5 cards for me - at least one of each size of card provided - you can add computer text etc. to it but the card is to be predominantly from the products provided in the kitSo, my question is - would you be interested???? If so, please let me know & send me your full name & address as well as a contact e-mail address so that I can get your kit to you in the next week or soI look forward to hearing from you & do hope you'll join me

Sarah x

Of course i said yes, but then had a sleepless night , wandering if she really meant me, or did she PM the wrong person? I've never thought of myself as a card maker, i've only just started dabbling in making cards, but only ever send them to close family, who always receive them well, and think they're great, but they would they're family after all.

Anyway i'm totally made up.

This is so funny that i'm even writing this, as no-one reads this blog anyway.

I knew i'd never keep it up

I'm not sure why I started this blog i knew i'd never really keep it going, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I've been making a few cards lately, just because i can't be bothered to go into town and buy one.

I made a card for DH's Aunt and Uncles ruby wedding last week and last night made my Dad a card for his 60th, both were very well received, but that's family for yer, they would say they liked them, wouldn't they?

Here they are, incase anyone is reading this..

second post

This is the LO i did for the first prompt for the Scrapbooking the secret free online workshop. The prompt was to do a LO or project about things in your life that you're grateful for.
