You made my day

I've made this card as a thank you to a very special person, who certainly did make my day a few weeks ago, but if you've ever left me a comment here, take it as a thank you to you too.

I haven't used any Cricut cuts on this cards, but i have used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch, and a gorgeous bird stamp from Inkadinkado Birds Galore set, and loads of gems. I hope the recipient likes it.

I've been tagged!

By the very talented Kim, thanks Kim.

The "rules" of the game: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

Ten years ago: OMG, i can't remember what i was doing last week! But i think it was then I was working part time on a Deli counter in a supermarket in the evenings.

Five things in todays 'to do list':
1. Save a life!, i'm a blood donor and i'm giving a pint of the red stuff today.
2. Hoover the lounge, no on second thoughts, i'll do that tomorrow. :)
3. Start my diet again, that will be the third time this week. Ooops.
4. Stroke the new craftytemplates DT Goodie Kit i just received.
5. Finish the card i started this morning.

Snacks I enjoy: That's gotta be crisps, i love crisps, the flavour of the week is Worcester sauce, yummm. (that's why i can't stick to my diet).

Things I would do if I was a millionaire: Buy an eight bedroom house with lots of land, and fill it with lots of foster children. Take the whole family on a world cruise.

Places I have lived:
I have lived in the same town, or just outside it all my life, although i have lived in 10 different homes here.

Now i will tag, Leo, Ruthy, SamG, and Nikki, sorry there's only four, as the other i was gonna tag has already been tagged with this one.

My first commission

I was asked by one of the Mum's at pre-school ( i made her little girl the Minnie card), if i'd make a card for her to give to her friends little boy. She wanted a dinosaur one with the boys name on. I just took it to her and she was really pleased with it. I was so pleased that she asked me, maybe i'll get some more orders from it.

I used one of the dinosaurs from the Paper Dolls cart, the balloon, the number 4 and the hat are from the Celebrations cart and the letters are from Alphalicious (the shadow was welded in the design studio). I hope the little boy likes it.

Long Lost Letters

This months craftytemplates Goodie kit is all about sending a card 'just because'. This kit is a gorgeous mix of modern papers and embellishments with a vintage twist. So here are a couple of the cards i made for this months design team assignment.

No Cricut!

Here's two cards i've made this week, none of them have anything cut on the Cricut on them (for a change). The first is for my Nieces engagement this weekend and the other is for my Dad.

The engagement card was difficult to photograph, as the hearts are Heidi Swapp mirrors, the flourish stamp at the bottom is also by Heidi Swapp. I have also used my lovely new punch that Regina so kindly sent me, i love that punch!!!

The Fathers day sentiment is by Inque Boutique and the papers are from the large pack (300 sheets) of papers from Costco, which a very kind lady on UKS got for me.

Lucky

I had the most wonderful surprise yesterday, i just can't get over how kind some people are. Regina Easter sent me a RAK, this lady is one of the sweetest, kindness ladies on the WWW. She asked someone else to get my address for her, and that person (DeeDee) was sworn to secrecy. Anyway check out Regina's blog post here, and see that gorgeous box?, that's what she sent me!!!!, but that's not all, (although that box is a gorgeous gift in itself), inside was a Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch, i'd been trying to hold of one of these babies for a while, but couldn't find one anywhere in the UK. All i could do when i opened the package was cry, i was overcome with emotion, and the thought that someone you've never even met, would send you something, just blew my mind. So how lucky am I to now own this....

P.S sorry for the quality of this photo, it is not mine, i snagged it off Ebay. :)

Here is a card a made for a little girl who's birthday party our little foster child went to today, i hope she liked it, but what little girl wouldn't love a glittery Minnie Mouse card?, especially when it has her name on it.

My challenge

This is the card i made for the challenge that i set over on the Hallmarkscrapbook message board. The challenge is to use either or both of the cats that can be found on the Paper Dolls cart. I just giggled to myself all the time i was making it, i hope it raises a few smiles.

I have also been contacted this week by another UKS member to show me the card she made, inspired by my ampersand wedding card, everyone seems to love these cards, i've had so many lovely comments about them, and i'm so pleased to have inspired so many to make one. Check out Annette's card on her blog here. Hasn't she done a beautiful job?

Anniversary cards

I have three anniversary cards to make for this week, one for a friend, one for my Sister and her hubby (we had a double wedding in Cyprus) and of course one for my Hubby.

Whilst blog hopping i saw mentioned on several blogs about a new sketch challenge blog, 2 Sketches 4 You, so i checked it out for myself, wow i will definitely be checking it out on a regular basis. I used one of the sketches and made these two almost identical cards.
