Happy Birthday Son

I have been trying to come up with a design for my Son's birthday card for weeks, and today i have finally managed to put something together, it wasn't easy making a card for a 14 year old boy, but i'm sure he will like it, because i made it.
I found the image from a Precious Moments colouring page website, and coloured it with my Promarkers. The huge circle sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe', Happy Birthday to my Son printable stamp set.

My news

OK as i mentioned yesterday, i can now share the little bit of news that i have been itching to let out of the bag for a while. I, along with Emma were guest designers for Passion for Promarkers challenge blog for the month of February, and we have both been invited to be full time DT members from today. I have entered the PfP challenges every week since they started last May, and i'm so thrilled to be joining such a talented bunch of crafters.
This weeks challenge, set by Gina is to use 2 images on your project, but you can use any colours of Promarkers you choose.
So here's  my first project as a fully fledged PfP DT member. I've used 2 of the C.C. Designs Sugarplums Party digi images.

To celebrate joining the DT, myself and Emma will be choosing one lucky person each from this weeks challenge entries to win a Promarker rubber stamping kit, from Letraset.
This giveaway is additional to the main prize, which this week is a pack of 5 Promarkers donated by Letraset. Good luck!

1st Christening card

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, just a quick post as i have lots to do, which includes making my Son's birthday card for Sunday.
This is the first Christening card i have ever made, and when i was asked to make one i didn't really know where to start but i thought the image i've used, (Guardian Angel from Sugar Nellie),  was suited to the occasion.
Please pop by tomorrow where i can share a bit of news with you, that i have been keeping to myself for a few weeks.

Enjoy life.......

Where did the weekend go? I hope all the Mum's who celebrated Mothers day yesterday had a wonderful day, as i did.  My  day was spent with my family, including my parents and paternal grandparents, who all came to my house for lunch, (which my hubby cooked), and with yesterday in mind, i thought this card really expressed how i felt.
For this card i have used two files from The Cutting Cafe', Butterfly shaped card template and Everyday greetings set 2.

I have also received two blog awards from my very lovely and talented blogging friend Nikki, i'm rubbish at passing these awards on as i'd want to award them to so many, so i am passing these on to everyone.
So if you haven't already received these awards, please accept them from me.
The rules to this one are to list 12 things about yourself.........
and this one i have received once before and the rules are to share 7 exciting things about yourself and pass the award on to 15 wonderful bloggers.

Passion for Promarkers challenge #42

This weeks PfP challenge chosen by guest designer Sarah W is to use the Promarker colours Mango and Bright Green.
I struggled at first to find papers in my stash that would go with this colour combo but got there in the end.
I made the flowers by punching out 7 x 1" scalloped circles for each flower, dampening them with a little water, scrunching them all up, then opening them up carefully, i gradually opened up the layers less and less as i got to the top layers.
The sentiment is part of the Easter set 2 form The Cutting Cafe'.

Don't forget to check out another great tutorial in this weeks PfP Weekend Workshop and leave a comment for a chance to win $15 to spend in the Fred She Said online store,

I scrapped!!!!

Here's the two LO's i made at the weekend, i haven't scrapped for so long i'm not sure i remembered how, think i'll stick to cards in the future.
This one is very influenced by Rachael's work, she actually chose the papers for me, they are all from the new Prima Flights of Fancy range.  I have used one of my new MS punches on this page, which i purchased from the retreat shop. I think that this gorgeous butterfly punch is my favorite. I also bought the lace, but seem to have misplaced the rest of it. :(, think i may have left it behind.

Oh and the little baby in all these photos, that's me!

On this second LO i did a bit of gutting which our very own Lou is famous for, you'd never tell from the front, but the view from the back is a totally different story, sometimes i wonder how it's all held together. Lou is also responsible for me buying that cute MS Bird on a wire punch too.
Sorry about the poor pictures but it's raining here and i had to use my daylight lamp which caused glare in the top left of the LO.

Retreat weekend

I've just had the most perfect weekend, at the first Sarah's Cards retreat in Warrington. I met some of the loveliest people i have ever had the pleasure to meet. I chatted with them, laughed with them, and even cried (just a little). I think i drank too much water as it was leaking from my eyes. lol

These two beautiful ladies, Sarah (right) & Lianne (left) were responsible for the whole event and have been working hard planning it for almost  a year, they thought of absolutely everything, and their attention to detail was beyond amazing. I feel so honoured to be part of Sarah's design team, they are all such a great bunch of ladies, i love everyone of them to bits.
The classes were fantastic and class kits were huge, and included far more than needed to complete the class. Everyone received a very generous goodie bag too. I think i can safely say it was a roaring success, and i'm sure it won't be last one, (please Sarah).

I assisted  the mega talent Rachael in her class, she was an amazing teacher and you'd have never have guessed it was her first time teaching. We also room shared and had lovely chats into the wee hours, i really missed that last night. :(
There was an extensive shop and i couldn't resist a little retail therapy,  a few Martha Stewart punches were calling my name so i had to bring them home, call them an early birthday pressie for next month.
I was so sad when it was all over, but i will have very happy memories forever.

I even did a little scrapbooking, something i haven't done for a while, i will share what i did when i have taken the photo's.

Passion for Promarkers challenge #41

One more thing before i go (see previous post).

Here's my card for this weeks PfP challenge. Caryn has chosen this weeks theme of of ‘back to nature’, so i went with a nature inspired colour scheme and this naughty cat with a flower he has pulled from the garden in his mouth. This a digi freebie stamp from Motivet - Blog, here.

I'm off.........

...well i am tomorrow.
I'm so excited to be part of the first Sarah's Cards retreat in Warrington.  I have never been on a crafting retreat before and i'm so excited. I shall be assisting the very talented Rachael in her class, and we're going to be room buddies for the weekend too. I am also going to be doing a make & take. Even though this is 'work', i just know it's gonna be fabulous!!!!!

I'll be back with all the news from the weekend on Monday, but for now, i'll leave you with a few more of the cards i made with this months kit.
