I can't believe it's been almost a month since i posted, i hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and i know it's late but, happy new year!
Just before Christmas the Sarah's Cards December kits were sent out to subscribers. Here's a few of the cards i made with the kit.

This week over on the PfP challenge blog we are launching our very special Mega Christmas challenge which will last until January 3rd 2012. The theme is a nice easy one “celebrations”,

Whilst at the Sarah's Cards retreat last weekend i actually scrapped!! I snatched time between assisting in classes, working the till and calling the bingo to do just one page over the whole weekend. This is actually the first page i've done since March, (expect for doing my sample page for Jen's class). I really enjoyed doing this page and absorbed some creative vibes from the talent around me.
The papers i've used are from American Crafts - Chap range.

There are still a few spaces left for our next retreat in March, but i don't think they will be be around much longer.

Sarah's Cards Retreat November 2011

We've just had the 3rd Sarah's Cards retreat in Warrington over the weekend. It was a fabulous weekend, spend with an amazing bunch of ladies. Although it was very tiring i loved every minute. Think i'm suffering jet lag after travelling so far up North. :)
Check out this post over on the Sarah's Cards blog for some photos of the weekend, and keep your eyes peeled for some pictures of the class layouts that are coming soon.
This year our charity was the Alzheimer's Society which is very close to both Sarah's and my hearts. Lots of money was raised through raffling off a gorgeous quilt made by Sarah, the charity table and also from a card class i did, which £2 from each kit sold went to the charity.
Here's the cards, that were part of the class i taught. I think i was aiming a little high to think we would get anywhere completing three cards in an hour, but most people finished them off in the crop room.

The image i have used on my DT card this week is another from Teddy Bo & Co called Bubbly Bea, i just love these images at the moment. As i have been doing on all my AquaMarker coloured digi images recently, i have printed the image onto cartridge paper and coloured her with AquaMarkers. I find the paper does warp a little, but i try not to over wet it and after colouring i stick it to a piece of cardstock and it flattens out just fine, so i am now able to colour digi stamps with AquaMarkers, happy days!

We have three busy days here next week, starting this Sunday, which in the UK is Mother's Day, followed by our Son's 15th birthday on Monday and then it's my birthday on Tuesday. So we will have a full house on Sunday, with my parents and granparents coming for a roast lunch, then being joined later by my sister and her family for a party tea.
Here's the card i've just made for Mum, using only cardstock, a couple of MS punches, and a couple of cuts from the Cricut Home Accents cart.

Here as promised is another one of the layouts i created at the Sarah's Cards retreat last weekend, (i've even scrapped a page since i've been home!). I'm not sure why i stopped scrapping and starting making cards because i still enjoy it. I had so much fun playing with these gorgeous MME Stella & Rose - Hazel papers, and that lace effect stamp stamps so cleanly, i just love it! The photo's are of Me and my Mum in 1968.

The new monthly sketch challenge has just been posted on the Sarah's Cards blog along with stunning examples by some of the design team. Vanessa has designed a great sketch for us this month.

As i was in the company of what i perceive to be some of the most talented scrappers in the UK, i made the most of all the creative vibes flying around and did a bit of scrapping myself, something i sadly don't have time to do very often, so i'm a little out of practice. But i managed to make this layout featuring a sunset photo taken on the evening of our wedding in Cyprus in 2005.

Sarah's Cards 2nd Retreat

This weekend was the 2nd Sarah's Cards retreat in Warrington, i drove up on Thursday, leaving home at 9am and arriving at the hotel just after 2pm, it was a long and lonely journey but i'm so proud of myself that i did it.
Just like last year the whole weekend was a blast. I loved spending time with Sarah, Lianne and the rest of the DT girls, wish we could all get together more often. There were 6 fabulous classes, make and takes, challenges, and a very well stocked shop. On Saturday evening we had a few games of bingo, which had the room fall silent. I was the caller and got a fit of the giggles, i blame Sarah/Lianne and a few mishaps with the balls.

We all had to decorate our own canvas aprons this year. I made lots of flowers from Buckram, using the Tim Holtz Tattered flowers die, and used almost three whole bottles of Mica Mists!

I assisted the mega talented Rachael Elliott in the classroom. Here's my example of the layout she was teaching. It was a fabulous class and very Rachael.

I actually made three layouts over the weekend, which i will share later.

I can't wait until November when we get to do it all again, with different classes of course.

I'm so sorry i haven't updated my blog for a while, but i just haven't had the energy to do much crafting lately. I'd been feeling really tired, and had been getting a reoccurring infection . So a week and a half ago i went to see my GP, she sent me for blood tests and last Monday i went back for the results, and was i told i have Diabetes, which was a total shock. I'm now on medication, so i hope i feel more like me again once i'm on full dose in a couple of weeks.

Good morning, i have been such a bad blooger recently, i have been busy creating but i'm unable to share it right now. For my Squiggles Stamps project his week i have made a very simple card featuring the digital version of Miss Evie Wonderland and the flower clock, which i merged together in my photo editing programme before printing. I have left the card without a sentiment as i wanted to add that later, when i know what i want to use the card for.

I can't share any of them yet as they are DT samples, but i can share some of the cards i made with the Sarah's Cards December kit, which went out to subscribers before Christmas. It's the 3rd week of the PfP mega Christmas challenge with the theme of 'anything goes'.
This is also my last PfP DT project for a while, as team one are back for the next 6 months, whilst us team 2 DT members have a break. I will miss it, but if the next 6 months go as fast as the last 6, it will soon be our turn again. The challenge runs until 4th January 2011, so still plenty of time to get those entries in.
The image i have used on my card is Glitz Design Hoopla- 3x3 Cake Stamp, which i have coloured with AquaMarkers.

I've scrapped!!

Shocking i know, but i've actually done a bit of scrapbooking. Before i got into making cards, i was addicted to scrapping, but now i don't have much time to do it, so this is only the fifth layout i've done this year, before that i went about two years without doing any. I used the Sarah's Cards sketch challenge as a good excuse, and i also wanted to show the ladies at my crop that Christmas themed papers don't only have to be used for Christmas pages. The papers i have used are MME-I Believe.

Whilst i'm here i just wanted to do a quick review on these slippers i was sent by Clifford James.

When i opened the box i was delighted when i saw each slipper was in it's own drawstring cloth bag (very posh, lol) and the smell of the leather was gorgeous. They are fabulous quality, really lovely soft leather, with a good thickness of sole and the sheep skin lining is super soft. Unfortunately the sizing was little small for my Hubby, so they have been donated to my Dad, who has slimmer feet and he is over the moon with his new comfy footwear. I would recommend choosing a size larger than your normal shoe size, especially if you have wider feet.

Brrrrr, it's freezing here on the east coast of Suffolk.
This week i have another quick and easy little project to share with you, (i only seem to have time for quick projects at this time of year).
I have only made one of these little treat bags so far and intend to make a few more for my Nephew to give to his friends at nursery. The image i have used is Snow Pals, from Squiggle Stamps, which is also available as a digital stamp.

Hi all, a few weeks ago i was contacted by Dobbies.com who asked if i would review one of their products, i agreed and they sent me these beauties to try out.

They are solar powered so can be placed anywhere you wish outside, and they give my pathway a lovely Christmassy glow. They are also multifuncional and look fabulous when flashing too.

Over on the Passion for promarkers challenge blog this week we are celebrating the change of design teams with a blog hop. The other week the lovely people at dotcomgiftshop sent me a package of goodies to review. Part of what they sent was this set of 6 brown paper covered boxes , ready to be decorated with patterned paper, stamped on or you could just use the lovely vintage images and tags that come with them. You could even just tie them up with pretty ribbons. These are such a bargain price at only £2.95 for the set of six.

They also sent me these gorgeous vintage ribbons, (one of which i have used of on my box) and these gorgeous 3D stickers. The ribbons are like a soft cotton twill and the stickers are fabulous quality and i will definitely be using them on a festive creation soon.

I have been wanting to do something with these since they arrived, so yesterday i finally sat and decorated one of the kraft tags that came with the set of boxes and attached it to the second largest box.

Sarah's Cards DT 2010 get together

On Monday afternoon i returned home from a fun filled weekend with the Sarah's Cards DT. They are such a talented, friendly bunch and we had such a laugh. We went back to the same converted barn in the Peak District as last year. Unfortunately Jen couldn't make it this year as she's only just had her baby Son, but she was really missed. Claire, the newest member of the team already had other plans so she was also sadly unable to attend. I can't wait until we're all back together again in March in Warrington for the Sarah's Cards retreat.

Hi all, for this weeks Squiggle Stamps project i'm going to show you another way to use digital images, (you could do this with rubber too if you use Stazon ink). I printed the gorgeous Tree of Joy digital stamp onto OHP (overhead projector film) using my regular printer, and then coloured the image on the back with Stickles glitter glue. When the Stickles was dry, i then simply cut an aperture in a card blank and stuck the image behind the aperture. It wasn't the easiest card to photograph, but the effect in real life is fabulous.

Hi, today i want you show you a really quick Squiggle Stamps project using the Birdie Tag digital stamp, which took around an hour to make from start to finish. One of the great things about digital stamps is not only that you can print them any size you choose, you can also colour or paper piece them digitally too. I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10 as my editing software but i'm pretty sure you can do this with most photo editing programmes. I opened the image along with some free digital papers from Shabby Princess in my editing programme, then i selected each area using the 'magic wand' and used the 'fill with texture or colour' effect to fill each part with the digital patterned papers which gives a paper pieced look without the fiddly cutting out. Then it was just a case of adding the sentiment, printing them out and sticking them onto mini the cards, which fit into the mini pizza box i also made. I hope this has given you some ideas of more things you can do with your digital stamps, other than just printing them out and colouring them in with your favorite colouring medium.

Good morning.
Now the males of the household have gone back to school and work i'm finally getting back into the swing of things, although i'm struggling to get of bed much before 8.30 every morning (how lazy is that?). I don't have school runs to do at the moment, since our foster child returned to his family at the beginning of August, (which after a year with us was a very emotional time), so we are now having a little break from full time fostering.
